1.概述

Dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) is a pesticide and dye intermediate,It is a raw material for the production of methyl sulfonic acid and methyl sulfonyl chloride,It is used as a catalyst passivator in the petroleum industry,Coking inhibitor in ethylene cracking furnace, activator in hydrodesulfurization and pre-vulcanization process, liquid vulcanizing agent for rubber,Curing agent DADMT raw material and organic solvent。

2.Market demand and forecast

At present, the global production of dimethyl disulfide has reached more than 310,000 tons, with the continuous promotion of dimethyl disulfide in the application of pesticides, dyes, petroleum, chemical, rubber and other fields, the production and demand of dimethyl disulfide will grow steadily。
The growth rate of global dimethyl disulfide production is expected to be around 6% in the next few years。

3.Production plan and scale

3.1 Production process overview

At present, there are two kinds of dimethyl disulfide production process at home and abroad, dimethyl sulfate method and methyl mercaptan method。

The dimethyl sulfate process is simple and mature, but the yield is not high。Methyl mercaptan method is divided into methyl mercaptan oxidation method and methyl mercaptan vulcanization method. The methyl mercaptan oxidation method has advanced technology, but the production is difficult to control and the technical level is high.Methyl mercaptan vulcanization has advanced technology, mild reaction conditions and low production cost。

3.2. Selection of process scheme

Methyl mercaptan vulcanization method is adopted in this project. First, methyl mercaptan is synthesized by methanol and hydrogen sulfide, and then methyl mercaptan is vulcanized to produce dimethyl disulfide。The production process of this project is the patented technology of our institute。
